The current version of the Bubbleizer at the "Kulturtage Weicht 2008"

Bubbleizer

The Bubbleizer is a medial experiment which blurrs the differences between reality and virtuality. The visitor blows virtual bubbles into a real water basin using a straw. The Bubbleizer gets its special haptical appeal from the water the virtual bubbles swim in. With his hands the visitor can play with the bubbles, push them or make them burst. The amount of air that has been blewn into the bubbles affect the computer generated sounds that occur.

Multiple visitors can interact with the Bubbleizer simultaneously. Some fill the field with bubbles while others play with the messages the bubbles carry.

The Bubbleizer is based on a project coached by Tobias Grewenig at the University of Applied Sciences Augsburg, Departement of Design in 2007. The team of the first prototype: Caterina Florencio, Nontira Kigle, Anja Kosak, Pedro Portugal, Daniel Stock
